Is wireframing UX or UI?
Wireframes are a very useful tool for UX designers. They act as blueprints—UX designers can ensure that they are heading in the right direction before putting a lot of time into full mockups of the user interface complete with colors, fonts, and other design elements.
Do people still use wireframes?
The prototypical wireframe attempts to be an accurate representation of layout and information architecture while intentionally avoiding high visual fidelity and sometimes high content fidelity as well. I've been surprised to hear wireframes are still posited as an essential step in the process of design.
Is wireframing a skill?
Yes, wireframing is a skill, not just a technique. It can be done well or poorly and the result can have a huge impact on the outcome of the final product. Fortunately, like all skills, it can be learned and honed.
